Chasing Autumn — Catskills

There is something special about autumn in the Catskills. As the season turns, the mountains transform into a vast canvas of color, where forests of red, orange, and golden yellow stretch across rolling ridgelines and valleys.

From above, the landscape reveals a different perspective. Winding roads disappear into colorful forests, lakes reflect the changing season, and layers of mountains create endless patterns across the horizon. Every flight offers a new composition, a different play of light, and another opportunity to capture the beauty of this fleeting transformation.

For me, photographing autumn is always about more than the colors. It is about being in the right place at the right moment — when the morning mist rises above the valleys, when sunlight breaks through the clouds, or when the last warm rays of the day illuminate the mountain landscape.

The Catskills are especially beautiful during this short window of the year. The changing light constantly reshapes the scenery, making every moment feel unique.

Through this aerial collection, I wanted to capture the scale, patterns, and atmosphere of the season — a perspective that can only be experienced from above.
