Chicago in Shadow

This series explores Chicago at its lowest light—when detail collapses and atmosphere takes over.

Shot from the air at dawn and dusk, the work focuses on absence as much as presence: shadow overtaking structure, light reduced to fragments, and the city slipping toward abstraction.

What remains is not a place, but a feeling.

Chicago cityscapes

As the sun disappears, Chicago begins to glow.
Blue hour softens the skyline before the city turns electric — alive with light, contrast, and movement.
This month’s work captures that transformation.

Chicago Skyline

Embarking on a photographic exploration of Chicago, my camera captured the city's pulsating energy at night, with long-exposure shots of the mesmerizing skyline and the rhythmic trails of highway lights. The dance of train lights against the iconic backdrop added an urban poetry to the nocturnal scene. In the daylight, I framed the lifting bridges and the Bean, immortalizing Chicago's architectural prowess and unique landmarks. Join me in savoring these key moments that showcase the diverse beauty of the Windy City, from the tranquility of dawn to the electric vibrancy of its night.
